Pendix, the market leader for electric retrofit bicycle drives, looks back on its most successful year since its foundation in 2013. Compared to the previous year, the company was able to significantly increase sales in the double-digit percentage range. Pendix now sells its products in 12 countries, with the focus in 2018 on the Netherlands and Switzerland. The end customer business via the specialist trade currently accounts for 60 percent of sales. 780 specialist dealers in Germany and 350 in other European countries offer the Pendix eDrive retrofit system.
Pendix is also upgrading in the digital sector. After a service app for dealers had already been available since 2017, the new end customer app for the Pendix eDrive was presented at Eurobike, the leading trade fair for the bike business, in July. Pendix is thus picking up on the trend towards smart bicycles.
The new marketing director Alexandra Elschker has also implemented a program for sales partners. Pendix offers dealers a discount and bonus system that supports them with training and marketing measures. As a result, the number of premium partners increased by more than 60 percent.
In October 2018, the Zwickau-based company was awarded the regional promotional prize for its drive and implementation strength. The IHK Chemnitz described the growth process as exemplary for the Zwickau region.
Managing Director Thomas Herzog is satisfied: "We can be proud of what we have achieved together for the company. Especially in the area of marketing. Our entire team worked hard again last year on our success. Both the great feedback from the dealers and the promotional award show us that Pendix is on the right track". For the year 2019, Pendix will continue to focus on digitization, the expansion of its personnel base and fleet customer business as well as the further development of international markets.
